The banks are turning out to be a taxation nightmare! I need the money Western union ( or cash in KL ), seems to be the quickest for now!

I am still in the process of sorting legalities out, so can't have anything on the website till the processing is finished. Some have volunteered legal & professional help which is sorely needed to get the wheels in motion. For those who are willing to pledge help without the "official" standing, pls msg me about how. The rest may pledge an amount OR services, It will help me budget & donations can come in once I have a formal and legal system in place.

I have applied for an non profit org bank registration so! Have got stuck in red tape! I HAVE to open an account! But it will take months, till then I don't want to lose time.
Once my organization is registered and I can open an account I can accept bank transfers.
So sorry, once account is open, It will be accounted and audited.

Where & Who...

The home or shelter in question is located in Kolkata, India.

The name is I.S.S.A ( The Indian Society for Sponsorship & Adoption )

I am looking at one of the homes run by them in an area called Chingrighata, Kolkata. However, if funds permit, we could think about extending the EFFORT to other homes.

The PURPOSE is clearly to provide help "in kind" & services (pro-bono professional services, such as design, architecture, planning, legal, accounting etc), in order to ensure accountability. We could have simply collected donations and sent the money to them, but that is not the point. The point is to help in a very specific manner with specific goals.

How it started?

Simply with this email going out to my friends and practically everybody I knew...

An appeal.....

From Papia to you.Most of you know, our lil one (Paheli) who has changed our lives for the better, is adopted. Last year, we visited the house that gave her a shelter, where she was taken care of her at a crucial time. The lack of a proper hygienic bath and toilet was visible. The home is overwhelmed with numbers. Made me think that a small donation MYR 20 / INR 300 / USD 8 - upwards (more will be very useful ofcourse), can go a long way in getting a proper, toilet and bath facility for the children.

I PERSONALLY take responsibility to make sure each cent goes into the project. I will be solely accountable for the execution. An architect has offered services for the planning and I will source contractors and workers for it personally. I will bear all supervision for the entire project at my own cost of travel and monitoring or designing for special needs children. EVERY CHILD HAS A RIGHT TO A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT!! This is a small effort. It always starts somewhere.This is just an initiative, I want to take on. Its VERY doable!!

CAN you help? WILL you help?

ANYBODY who commits will get regular updates from me, I promise that. Our target is 4 shower stalls, 10 WCs and 5 sinks, that are for children and for those who are physically challenged. IF you know ANYONE else who can pitch in, please pass on the message. NOTHING official about it!
